Thursday Intermediate ride. Lots of new faces!

I knew that we would have a few more riders tonight with it being the first week we could really give people a heads up about it. But I was shocked to see about 20 riders there. I feel like the ride went really well as we finished with the same 20 as we started with. We had one flat tire, Chris stayed back, got it fixed and rode back in with him. I really have no clue what went on behind me. I dont know if people were hurting the whole time or chilling. I would assume some were hurting and some chilling. But I would love to get some feedback. I don't know how to get this out to all the people who participated but if you read this, please leave comments, even if they are short and sweet. I really want this to grow so I would like to know peoples likes and dislikes. If it gets a lot bigger, we might think about two groups...but I will have to find a good leader for a second group. Thanks to all who showed and hope to see you next week. Tell your freinds.

I thought the ride was very good. The pace was within my range and then some hills were at the top of my limits. This made it enjoyable and a test of my progress.

Looking forward to joining the group in two weeks (out of town next week).

I think I will get those thoughts from the majority. I think some might say the speed at times was a little scary but nothing people cannot get used to. And like you said, the hills will be a test of fitness week in and week out. Because the pace with stay consistant to tonight.

Thought it was a great ride. Not hard or easy. Nice to ride with a group. Hope to see everyone next week.

My heart rate was up on hills but otherwise it was a good pace for me to push my legs. I TT Mike Stallworth who was in the back...not sure if the road signals were getting to the back/hence the last flat tire. We all probably need to a better job with the signals. Thanks again! See ya tomorrow. Stina

I agree. I will go over signals and talk about it before the ride next week. That is very important because of the speed at times. We all need to be confident in the person in front of us so we can stay close to wheel. Also I had a few say that some of the fitter guys were talking and yo-yoing a bit. We all need to pay attention and keep it as smooth as possible. You never know when the person behind you is right on the edge and a slight ecceleration might put them over the limit.
